I went to college in San Diego, where I was raised and trained to be a missionary pilot until God redirected me to be a Bible translator with Wycliffe Bible Translators. My wife, Ruth, and I and our 4 kids served in Papua New Guinea for 18 years and facilitated a New Testament translation into the Mangseng Language which was dedicated 7/1/2000. During my time in PNG I discovered who I was in Christ and my walk with the Lord changed dramatically. Now at age 71, I am still passionate about helping others learn to walk more closely with Jesus.
My life verse is: Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is alive and powerful. it is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between the soul and spirit, between the joints and marrow. it exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." NLT The word of God has transformed my life and my heart's desire is to see it transform others, hence a career in Bible translation.
Hobbies: woodworking; traveling to see more of God's amazing creation.
