Roger Rollins

Elder

Roger serves on the Boards of Christ Central Mission Aiken, and Aiken Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center.  He is a member of the Aiken Committee for the National Day of Prayer, the Valley Alliance,  and the Community Services Network. In addition he works with numerous other local organizations  to minister to families. He works with couples getting married or needing help and he writes a weekly newspaper column on family and marriage issues. Roger is a retired nuclear engineer and technical manager, formerly with the Department of Energy.  He has degrees in science and engineering, including a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering.   One of Roger’s hobbies is music and he and his wife play at their church and for many community special events..  

Roger’s favorite Bible verses are Matthew 5:3-12, John 1:1-5,  and Ephesians 5:22-33, all of which tell us about the who and why of life.

Barb is a musician with a Master’s Degree in music education. Her primary instrument is the trumpet.  She provides music lessons for all wind instruments and is the conductor of the AAA Band and the Rollins Ensemble.  The AAA band is for homeschooled students, and the Ensemble provides  an avenue for adults and students to utilize their musical talents while playing for the Lord upon invitation.  Barb’s bands have played for many and varied audiences, from the governor to senior citizen events to churches, and wherever God leads. Barb’s hobby and avocation continues to be all things music.

Barb’s favorite Bible verses are Deuteronomy 28, John 10:10, and Ephesians 2:10, all of which have made a big difference in the way she thinks and behaves.

Roger and Barb have two daughters and three grandchildren.
